Rover Technology Fusions (RTF) Announces Licensing of U.S. Patent and the Power of Print on Demand Software from Mi-Co

Tampa, FL., February 19, 2007. At an Anoto partner seminar in Washington D.C. today, Mi-Co, the mobile data capture software company, announced that it has licensed U.S. Patent 6,798,907 to Rover Technology Fusions and PatienTree, Inc. Concurrently, RTF also announced the beta release of its implementation of “print on demand” software for Anoto functionality and the Rover Work Flow server product suite.

U.S. Patent 6,798,907 was awarded to Mi-Co for its invention of a computer system that combines handwriting captured in real-time with pre-existing information, creating a “composite document” and Rover Technology Fusions is proud to be the first to license the software. In a premier partnership with Mi-Co and others who are expected to quickly follow suit, RTF continues to innovate and build upon the existing Rover INK work flow platform. An example of a composite document is one that has been pre-populated by customer information systems prior to imbedding the Anoto functionality and Rover enhancements. The complete original, ready for digital writing, can be produced by an internally hosted laser printer. This empowers customers to capture and associate completion or relevant work flow data with the original form, as well as authorization or acceptance signatures on the documents using the digital pen technology from Logitech™. Once the work flow process is complete, RTF reassembles the entire document while storing the original with date and time stamps, as well as the OCR interpreted version. Concurrently, Rover INK parses and prepares the data for the original system of record in an XML string, via an ODBC connection, and/or a CSV flat file format. The RTF implementation of “Print on Demand” together with the Rover Work Flow & our document management server also stores a default PDF image of the completed source document. Users may also add voice or other file attachments associated with the newly completed document. Rover’s digital writing mobile data solutions, Rover INK and Rover INK work flow server, are built on Microsoft Server 2003 and .Net technologies and are being migrated to the new Vista operating environments leveraging Rovers’ Microsoft expertise as a Gold Development Partner.

“We are delighted with our partnership with Mi-Co, and the opportunity to bring print on demand software to our current customers and the world wide market requiring Six Sigma and/or ISO quality process improvements powered by work flow effectiveness,” stated Bryan Kearney, CEO of Rover Technology Fusions. “The combination of Rover INK and print on demand software is an ideal cost effective solution for any customer requiring a further step toward electronic medical record adoption, compliance driven maintenance & inspection, customer work orders, OSHA & DOT safety inspections, government forms, and non repudiated record keeping supporting tax calculation systems as already seen with real estate property appraisal applications and automatic update of CAMA (Computer Aided Mass Appraisal). Successful IT projects hinge on user acceptance. Rover INK digital writing solutions provide the fastest and most significant opportunity for user adoption while supporting all of the back office key performance indicators stake holders and IT professionals require to boast project success.”

“Rover, with its unique combination of domain-knowledgeable personnel and its market position, is a great solutions partner for Mi-Co,” stated Clary. “We appreciate our close relationship with Rover and its choice of Mi-Co as a technology supplier.”
