Tazzu set to take over Vancouver’s online technology forum marketplace

February 15, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
With the recent announcement that Vancouver based technology forum Techvibes.com (Techvibes) is up for sale on ebay, Tazzu, an alternative online technology forum, is poised to become Vancouver’s premier online technology and business networking website. In only four short months of operations, Tazzu has already seen explosive growth in membership and online postings. Currently Tazzu member have posted comments to the forum an astounding 5442 times.
Tazzu.com (Tazzu) is the creation of Jeannette Duguay, a Richmond based technology and web entrepreneur. Jeannette started Tazzu as an alternative online forum to Techvibes, which had in her estimation become too focused on revenue generation and online marketing and not on moderating postings and improving the forums content, technology and usability.

“After six months of begging Techvibes administration to fix the downward spiral of its forum, I gave up completely on Techvibes. A few core Techvibes members were just as frustrated as I was regarding the state of the forum. They suggested I started my own forum that would focus on intelligent technology discussions and honest business networking. Three months later I launched Tazzu. I sent out an email to 21 of my closest associates at Techvibes and word of my forum spread like wild fire. Within the first 14 days of operations, Tazzu had received 1000 online postings,” said Jeannette

Rastin Mehr, a West Vancouver based Web Technologies Architect, Information Technology Analyst and Tazzu member, believes that most Tazzu members are technology aware persons seeking real and effective discussions on technology. They are not primarily looking for a place to sell products and services.

“Tazzu Members are very technology aware people; they are serious social networkers and socially minded information technology business professionals. They are very helpful and friendly. New members are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the community. The great thing about Tazzu is that profiles have real identities behind them, there are no spam or snake oil salesmen here,” noted Rastin

Jeannette believes that the news that Techvibes is up for sale is good for Tazzu. Regular users of Techvibes, which number in the thousands, will be looking for a new Technology networking forum to call home. This positions Tazzu nicely as an alternative networking facilitator. It has already started to establish itself as a progressive user-friendly site that is close to its users because its chief administrator is constantly interacting with its members, reviewing its users needs and adjusting the forum accordingly. Jeannette has high hopes for Tazzu as a place for both the technology savvy and those less technologically proficient to hang out in the virtual world and discuss the latest in information technology development, online marketing strategies, web development architecture and the information technology industry. Her long range plans see the development of Tazzu into a self supporting not-for-profit social networking forum that uses funds raised to enhance social networking causes and increase information technology access and education for those peoples who would normally be limited in access to information technology.
