REI Systems to Support the Office of Grants and Training in Consolidating Preparedness Grant Programs

Annandale, VA – REI Systems announced today that it was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop an e-Grants solution to support the DHS directive to consolidate all grants management activities within the Department. The 1-year contract is worth US$2 million and can be extended to 3 years and US$3 million. Under the terms of the contract, REI Systems will create a single grants management system to support all Office of Grants and Training (OG&T) grant programs. This solution will provide the platform to consolidate all existing and future DHS Preparedness grants as directed by the DHS Chief Information Officer. REI will support OG&T’s transition out of the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP) and into the DHS Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Enterprise, including the migration of legacy data and integration with financial systems.

The Office of Grants and Training is a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Preparedness Directorate that is transitioning its operations to FEMA. They are responsible for preparing the nation against terrorism by assisting states, local and tribal jurisdictions, and regional authorities as they prevent, deter, and respond to terrorist acts. OG&T provides a broad array of assistance to America's first responders through funding, coordinated training, exercises, equipment acquisition, and technical assistance.

“REI Systems has an extensive background in providing reliable, effective, and innovative grants management solutions to DHS and many other key federal agencies. We welcome the Department’s mandate to consolidate all Preparedness grants to better serve their constituents and eliminate redundancy” says Veer Bhartiya, REI Systems President. “Our staff has delivered grants management solutions across nine federal agencies for more than a decade. We have worked in partnership with both OG&T and FEMA within DHS since 2000. This combination of technical and subject matter expertise will allow us to deliver significant results to support the Department in meeting its goals.”
