Ferrell Stowe, aka Stobro Contributes 3 Tracks to Upcoming Rob Schneider Movie

Ferrell Stowe recently returned from Los Angeles, California where he contributed to the soundtrack for the upcoming movie “Big Stan, ” which was directed by and stars Rob Schneider. Three of Stowe’s songs from his CD entitled Stobro’s Blues will be used in the film. He also will be playing on about 20 cues, which are short compositions written for individual scenes. The movie “Big Stan” will probably premier in August or September.

Stowe, a veteran musician with a career spanning forty years has been named the Midwest Dobro Player of the Year nine times by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA). He has produced five solo projects over his career and performed with Ricky Skaggs, Josh Graves, Randy Kohrs, James Price, and too many more to list. As a session musician, Ferrell estimates he has played on hundreds of artists’ projects over the years.

Originally from Missouri, Ferrell now maintains homes in the Nashville and North Georgia area. He spends most of his time on the road playing or doing session work in the Nashville area.

He has played at the historic Ryman Auditorium and was also a featured performer at the International Dobro Fest in Trnava, Slovakia in 2006.
