Sunnylicious judges Bhangra Blizzard in Buffalo NY

February 16, 2007 — On Saturday February 10th 2007, the University of Buffalo's Bhangra club held one of the best Bhangra contests in the Northeast, with Sunnylicious as one of the judges.

The event showcased 8 Bhangra teams from across the US and Canada, displaying the Bhangra dance aspect of South Asian culture. Each team endured months of hard work and practice to perfect a 6-8 minute set that was performed in front of a crowd of hundreds of audience members. The dedication each team displayed is a true testimony to the emphasis and appeal of Indian culture on South Asian youth living in USA and Canada.

In the end the placing teams were 1st place GTA(CA), 2nd place SGPD(CA), and 3rd place Columbia Bhangra(US). Every team is essentially a winner for taking part in this cultural showcase, and putting 100% into their craft.

Sunnylicious along with the other judges were faced with the daunting task of awarding points to each team, and deciding which 3 teams would place out of the 8. Each team showed displayed an impeccable routine, but in the end the judges were able to fairly decide the placing teams.

This show will surely be remembered as one of the best in Buffalo University's history of events.
