FREEDOM BANDS celebrates National Military Awareness Month at freedombands.com

April 15, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
To show support for the military this May, Freedombands.com is continuing their drive to raise $25 million for the American troops and their families. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of FREEDOM BANDS will go to help the US military personnel. The bands are available in red, white, blue, swirl, camouflage and glow-in-the-dark and are emblazoned with the words “LIFE LIBERTY FREEDOM.” These bands not only donate funds to the US troops, but they also give the wearer a way of physically showing their support and they are a daily reminder of the sacrifices our troops make.

“It does not matter what party you belong to. These bands are to support those who fight for our country and say we are proud to be American,” says Lisa Jensen, who founded the effort with her husband Kib and their four children.

Freedombands.com was the idea of Kib and Lisa Jensen and their four children. They idea sprang from the wildly successful Lance Armstrong “Livestrong” wristbands. The family felt the same idea would work to raise money for soldiers and their families. So far over 30 thousand dollars has been donated to charities and foundations which give the money to the troops. Freedombands.com works with the American Red Cross, USA Cares, Armed Forces Children's Education Fund, the Fisher House Foundation and A Million Thanks.

FREEDOMBANDS can be purchased at freedombands.com for $1 and come in packages of ten at the minimum. Larger purchases are welcome as well as donations. The bands are sold in adult and children’s sizes and come in red, white, blue, swirl, camouflage, and glow-in-the-dark. Pictures of the bands can be found on the website as well as more information on the charities FREEDOM BAND purchases support. Any organizations interested in partnering with or selling FREEDOM BANDS can contact the foundation through the website as well.
