Global Brands Group Appoints XP Events as Exclusive On-Site Merchandise Concessionaire for All FIFA Events from 2007 until 2010 Including the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ In South Africa
(PRLEAP.COM) XP Events, the turn-key retail merchandising partner for sports organizations and world-class events, today announced that it will be the on-site merchandise concessionaire for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa and for a minimum of 14 other events that FIFA will host around the world over the next four years. This contract was awarded to XP Events by Global Brands Group, the international brand management and licensing company that is FIFA’s worldwide master licensee and licensing representative from 2007 until 2014.
Through this agreement, XP Events will manage on-site merchandise concessions for each of the following tournaments:
o FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 (men) (formerly the FIFA World Youth Championship) – July 2007 – Canada
o FIFA U-17 World Cup Korea 2007 (men) – August 2007 – South Korea
o FIFA Women’s World Cup China 2007 – September 2007 – China
o FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Rio de Janeiro 2007 – November 2007 – Brazil
o FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2008 – June (TBC) 2008 – New Zealand
o FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2008 – October/November (TBC) 2008 – Chile
o FIFA Futsal World Cup Brazil 2008 (men) – June (TBC) 2008 – Brazil
o FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2008 – TBD date and location
o FIFA U-17 World Cup 2009 (men) – TBD date and location
o FIFA U-20 World Cup 2009 (men) – TBD date and location
o FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 – South Africa
o FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2009 – TBD date and location
o FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2010 – TBD date and location
o FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2010 – TBD date and location
o 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (men) – TBC date

As part of this agreement, XP Companies has signed a non-exclusive product licensing agreement with rights to design and manufacture apparel and other related categories to be sold through its on-site locations for all of the above events except for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
