White Plains Maryland, March 3, 2007 – Automated Graphic Systems (AGS), a Consolidated Graphics Company, has added a new Bolero perfect binder that will set new standards in day-to-day binding operations. This innovative binder can handle a large range of products and is suitable for the production of perfect bound books, magazines and catalogs. The Bolero is the most automated and advanced adhesive binding system in the world, whether a job calls for PUR, one or two shot hotmelt, cold emulsion or a number of other binding methods. It’s suitable for the production of perfect bound books, magazines and catalogs, as well as for the manufacture of book blocks for case binding.

The new Bolero perfect binder also delivers speed and efficiency to production. “With machine speeds up to 8,000 cycles per hour and full automation this technology allows AGS to achieve the most production output in the shortest amount of time.”, says Russ Wenzel, Vice President of Sales.

As well as its production versatility, the Bolero adds improved productivity and labor-saving efficiency to the binding process. “Besides the speed gained due to the engineering, being able to include features such as Otobind in addition to being able to perfect bind up to 3-1/8” thick books are significant features that enhance the capabilities of this binder and Automated Graphic Systems”, says Kevin Burgess, Director of Operations. This binder utilizes a digital interface and features fully automated operation across the entire size range. Binding jobs are prepared from digital data from either the measuring station, user-friendly touch screen or via Job Definition Format (JDF) files. JDF is an XML-based file format for an electronic job ticket.
