MyHome Creates New Cabinetry Line To Showcase American Craftsmanship

New York, New York: To showcase it’s high level of craftsmanship and dedication to client care, MyHome (myhomeus.com) announced its new line of MyHome brand cabinetry today as part of the full-service contracting initiative it began in 2001. This new customized cabinetry line marks the next phase for this New-York-based brand that has been challenging traditional contracting models with its out-of-the-box thinking.

“It’s the natural evolution of the full-service concept for providing our clients with everything under the sun,” says My Home president Mayan Metzler. “We know Cabinetmakers are highly revered in the design market and wanted to honor this by using only the best materials, finishes, and designers.

However, high craftsmanship doesn’t have to come at such a high price,” he says.
Metzler is referring to the high prices often attached to European cabinets and the shipping costs that come with them. He has written extensively on this subject on his blog at myhomeus.com/blog explaining that the mystique surrounding European products has been a powerful influence on American consumers. He also contends that companies like Snaidero and Poggenpohl often use idiomatic terms like “European craftsmanship” or “German Engineering” to denote quality and class. Metzler, however, is fully committed to letting the public know that American companies are just as able to deliver this level of craftsmanship right here at home.

MyHome Cabinets will be made in their plant in Bergen County, NJ with an eye for matching or surpassing the quality the European counterparts Metzler has been using in his many years as a design expert. The products will debut at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, March 8-11 at Pier 94 in Manhattan, Booth 269.

“Of course we’re trying to create the best cabinets possible at the fairest price. But in doing so, we’re also looking to dispel this “euro magic” concept so prevalent in American thinking. Just because it’s foreign doesn’t mean its better and while names like Scavolini and Pedini, roll off the tongue rather nicely, they don’t translate into higher quality,” Metzler adds.
