AccuWeather.com® Proves the Most Reliable Weather Source During Valentine’s 2007 Storm

State College, PA – March 01, 2007 – AccuWeather.com today announced that the 2007 Valentines Day storm resulted in a record-breaking number of visits to its free Web site. The site experienced a spike of 300% over normal traffic for mid-February. In addition, Keynote (Nasdaq “KEYN”), The Mobile and Internet Performance Authority™, showed that AccuWeather.com was more consistently available and reliable for online users during this high traffic period than any other online major weather provider.

From Tuesday February 13th through Wednesday February 14th, the 2007 Valentine’s Day storm brought a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow that made travel dangerous in the Northeast United States. Many travelers turned to the AccuWeather.com Web site primarily for radar images, current conditions, local forecasts, and video forecasts, and wireless access to weather information. They also used the AccuWeather.com mobile Web site to access the same range of information while in transit. According to Keynote, AccuWeather.com was available during the height of the storm at a rate of nearly 96% — more than any other leading weather site and 26% more than one of the most frequently visited weather sites online.
