Invensys Controls Launches New FireX® Web Site

March 02, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Carol Stream, Illinois, USA – Invensys Controls today announced the launch of a completely revamped and revitalized Web site for their FireX® line of products – www.firexsafety.com. In keeping with the leadership role FireX has taken in the safety product industry, the site features the latest additions to the FireX family, the state-of-the-art Monox® carbon monoxide (CO) sensing products, along with the tried-and-true smoke sensing products that contractors have relied on for years.

The objective for this first phase of the redesigned site is to provide customers of FireX products with additional and up-to-date information about the FireX products and services. Visitors to the site have access to technical specification sheets, product manuals, and cross reference guides. One visitor, Carl Freiburger, Sales Promotion and Merchandising Manager at Crescent Electric Supply Company, said, “I like the new site. It’s easy to navigate and just about any question you can think of, the answer is there.”

Just as important was the addition of an education center where customers and consumers can access material about the importance replacing and upgrading alarms at the appropriate intervals. “Our new FireX Web site plays a key role in the Invensys Controls professional replacement and upgrade initiative. It will help consumers, contractors and wholesalers appreciate the importance of replacing smoke alarms that are over 10 years old and upgrading to include carbon monoxide protection. We want to make awareness of this replacement recommendation as commonplace as awareness of testing smoke alarms weekly and replacing batteries every six months. And we are particularly intent on reaching the tens of millions of homeowners for whom a professional safety alarm replacement and upgrade makes the most sense,” said DJ Crane, Vice President and General Manager of the Safety Products Segment at Invensys Controls.

The education center will also be of interest to customers and consumers in states that have recently passed legislation requiring the installation and use of CO alarms in every home. In January of this year, such laws went into affect in both Illinois and Minnesota, with more states following. Electrical contractors can use this information to encourage their customers to replace and upgrade their current safety products. HVAC contractors can also educate their customers about the importance of CO safety products while servicing their furnace – and as an added service, install the required CO alarms at that time.

The Web site can be accessed directly at www.firexsafety.com, or through the Invensys Controls Web site www.invensyscontrols.com and clicking on FireX.
