Bike patrol officers arrest the "tingle" of riding

Fifty-four percent (26 of 48) of the San Antonio, TX police department (SAPD) bike patrol officers arrest the tingle by riding the BiSaddle by Bycycle Inc. The BiSaddle was introduced to the SAPD bike patrol officers three years ago, through a National Institute Of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) study where the officers were given a choice between many different alternative saddles.

The Winter 2007 issue of the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) News contains a review by a SAPD bike patrol officer about his positive experience with the BiSaddle, available at: http://www.bycycleinc.com/imagesDP/IPMBA2007Review.gif. That officer found out that tingling and numbness are not normal and not necessarily part of the job.

The BiSaddle is an adjustable bicycle saddle design with two independently configurable surfaces that support both male and female pelvic girdle variations. Saddle surface outer materials are either visco-elastic foam or visco-elastic elastomer. The frames that the surfaces are mounted on are available in 2024 aluminum or plated steel.

Bycycle Inc. is the Oregon Corporation founded in 1998 by Jim Bombardier to manufacture and sell his healthful, comfortable and patented saddle design.
