BioLink at CeBIT 2007: newest multi-modal biometric offerings

March 15, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
BioLink Solutions announces its participation, in strategic partnership with IRIS Corporation Berhad (Malaysia) and TTI (USA), in the world's largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions for home and work environments – CeBIT 2007. The event takes place in Hannover, Germany, March 15-21, 2007. BioLink Solutions will exhibit its most recent advances in biometric identification at Stand No. K13, Hall 6, International Centre.

The key feature of BioLink’s new product line to be exhibited at CeBIT is multi-modality, including support for multi-biometric identifiers (fingerprint, voice, handwriting and face) and non-biometric parameters (contactless cards, PIN codes and passwords). Other major advantages over similar solutions are universality, meaning that BioLink’s client-server applications can be used in various network environments and operating systems, and scalability, i.e. the biometric offerings can be seamlessly extended as required.

BioLink expects particular interest from CeBIT visitors towards the new products designed for corporate security, including information security and physical access control, and large-scale biometric identification.

The enterprise security sector at the stand will be represented by a number of software and hardware products, such as BioLink IDenium, BioTime, BioLink U-Match and FingerPass IC. BioLink IDenium is the latest addition to the information security product line, intended to manage access to corporate resources of an enterprise-wide network. It allows replacing numerous passwords required to access various environments, such as Windows (including Windows Vista), global directories (Active Directory), Novell networks, Citrix sessions and other custom applications with a single finger touch, thus providing reliable and fool-proof identification of corporate users.

Another component of a corporate security system is BioTime, an integrated time management and access control system, bundled with FingerPass IC, a fingerprint scanning device. BioTime tackles the time and attendance routine tasks of an organization by registering the employees’ check-in and check-out events in a multi-factor mode (fingerprint, card or PIN code) and monitors the employees’ presence or absence. FingerPass IC is a triple-factor identification Ethernet terminal that manages electromechanical and electromagnetic door-locks, turnstiles, gateways opening them upon successful verification of users.

Last but not the least, visitors’ attention will surely be attracted by AMIS (Automated Multi-biometric Information System) that performs real-time identification of individual or groups of people in middle and large scale applications. This fault-tolerant and scalable solution based on client-server distributed architecture and complying with the ISO and ICAO standards, can search and process hundreds of thousands of varied biometric parameters, including fingerprints, faces, voices and handwriting samples, making it a good choice for public and military institutions, law enforcement agencies and large-sized commercial applications.

Piotr Pertsov, BioLink’s director of business development, says: “BioLink’s annual participation at CeBIT is a good opportunity to reveal the company’s biometric advances and its ability to track and implement the global biometric trends as soon as applicable. We also participate to expand our international presence and strengthen our positions in the highly-competitive biometric market”.
