Karen Drummond Joins American Med Systems, Inc.

(Akron, Ohio) 2007 – American Med Systems, Inc. (AMS) is pleased to announce that Karen Drummond has joined their staff as the new Director of Coding and Compliance. AMS provides medical billing, medical collections, workers compensation recovery and corporate collection services nationwide.

With the addition of Karen Drummond, AMS will be expanding their coding and compliance department to provide medical coding and compliance services to physicians and medical offices. AMS will also offer coding and compliance training and certification of office staff both on site and at AMS’ headquarters. Their new services will include Power Weekends for certification and workshops/seminars for certified medical billers and coders to obtain CEUs. The Power Weekend for billing and coding certifications for CMBS or CPC consists of an 8-hour review the first day and examinations the following day.

Karen Drummond brings to AMS 15+ years of experience and five certifications: CPC, CPC-H, CMC, ACS-RA and ACS-MS. She serves on the national board of Advanced Coding Specialists in Radiology and Multi-Specialty. Karen is a past presenter for the American Academy of Professional Coders and has worked locally and nationally educating physicians and their staffs on documentation guidelines and coding concepts. She is also, an American Academy of Professional Coders approved PMCC instructor, who has taught medical billing and coding at Stark State College, Canton City Schools Adult Education and Portage Lakes Career Center. Most recently, Karen has worked for two large local hospitals teaching the residency program the documentation guidelines and functioning as the Coding Manager for one of them.
