BOCA RATON, FORT LAUDERDALE, and MIAMI, Fla, March 22, 2007 – Ten foster children in Sunrise, Fla., soon will sport sunnier smiles, thanks to the cosmetic dentists at Smile South Florida.

Smile South Florida Cosmetic Dentistry has joined forces with Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options, Inc. (JAFCO) to provide complementary dental care for 10 foster children. The dentists also will take care of any child dental emergencies and provide teeth whitening for JAFCO’s administrators.

JAFCO provides foster care and rehabilitation for at-risk children in South Florida. JAFCO Executive Director Sarah Franco said they were thrilled with Smile South Florida’s offer. “We’ll use (their services) to treat children who come to our emergency shelter directly after being separated from their parents. I know the children will be grateful, just as JAFCO is very, very grateful.”

Smile South Florida Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Charles Nottingham noted healthy teeth play an important role in a person’s overall health. “We want to help JAFCO and the community in the best way we know how, and that’s dentistry,” said Dr. Nottingham.

“My wife is a strong advocate for children, I’m happy we finally made the connection with JAFCO,” said Smile South Florida Invisalign® Dentist Dr. Kenneth Anenberg.

Franco asserted that this would be the first dental experience for many children participating in the project. “We definitely believe children are the responsibility of the entire community; a belief also held by Smile South Florida, as evidenced by their most generous offer.”
