AgencyNet wins ‘Best in Show’ at SXSW Web Awards

(PRLEAP.COM) AgencyNet was the recipient of one of the most prestigious awards in the interactive industry, the ‘Best in Show’ at South by Southwest (SXSW) for their work on “ownyourC.com’. The website originally was named the winner in the Business: Green/Non-Profit Category.

Held at the Austin Hilton Hotel, the SXSW Web Awards honored a few top developers and designers chosen from hundreds of entries submitted from across the globe. Ze Frank, a comedian and host of the popular vlog, “The Show,” emceed the ceremony, which named winners in 18 content categories, including “People’s Choice” and “Best of Show.”

“The project was an absolute pleasure to work on… we really were able to push the boundaries of the digital medium and create something truly unique and innovative,” says Richard Lent. AgencyNet combined a number of creative disciplines starting with raw sketch development, and then proceeded into the physical ‘set’ design (on top of their in-house pool table no less) for C-Ville utilizing raw materials and found objects such as papier mâché, popsicle sticks, tree branches, chicken wire, newspaper, yarn, rocks, foam, and cloth. They coupled these very real elements, with cutting edge technologies such as green-screen video, stop-motion animation, streaming video, custom audio, Adobe Flash and After Effects animation, and user customization to create an immersive, engaging and viral destination. Hopefully, AgencyNet was able to assist some teens in kicking their tobacco habits in the process.
