Smashing Cosmetica Launches On-Line Beauty Boutique

Banff, AB – March 30th, 2007 – Banff-based beauty boutique, Smashing Cosmetica, opens it’s cyber doors Thursday, March 30th.

Launching an online beauty boutique is just one chapter in a national boutique-expansion plan, the first of its kind in Canada. Previously a physical location only, Smashing Cosmetica will now be able to service clients around the world, offering patrons exclusive, hard to find beauty brands and delivering them to their doorstep. An online presence will also serve to grow the brand of Smashing Cosmetica, as it poises for expansion across Canada.

The first Smashing Cosmetica opened its doors in September 2006 with a tiny, 350 sq. ft location in Banff. Located in the heart of Banff's upscale shopping district just steps from LouisVuitton, Smashing Cosmetica specializes in hard-to-find indie brands such as
Archipelago, Zents, Cake, Jaqua, Principessa, TheBalm, Aquolina, Kai, Monyette Paris, Lalicious, Mor, Liparazzi, Rosie Jane, Lippman, Fusion, Kiss, Me Mascara, Lola, Inuovi, Piaffe, Breath Palette, Kitten Vixen, Erbaviva, Perfekt, Belli, ME Bath!, Lulubeauty, Crazy Libellelule, Clean, Einstein Lip, Theory, Tiny Tillia, Perfumeria Gal, Ooohlala Beverly Hills, Ole Henriksen, Dermadoctor, Suki's Natural, Baxter of California (Men's line), and Juara Skincare (and coming soon: Whish!)

Says owner, Darlene Treutler, "I am hands-on with my store, and I am very particular about what I carry. I personally try all the lines present in my store whether it be a $20.00 lipstick or a $300.00 face cream; there are so many brands available to consumers and alot of them do not do what they claim to do! I wanted to share my favorites with others.

Upon entering clients are told "if there is anything we can help you with do not hesitate to ask," and we mean it! If we see clients looking at a certain product we are ready with the story behind the line and the benefits of the product. We make ourselves completely available to our clients and we never pressure them; I believe in providing a warm atmosphere where people feel comfortable asking questions and taking the time to try things. We make sure our customers have all the information they need to make an informed decision. I want every customer to leave satisfied. I am here everyday, and this boutique is my passion. I love being here, and sharing my knowledge and experience with my clientele!"
