SPORTS INDUSTRY VETERANS LAUNCH NEW SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT MARKETING COMPANY

(PRLEAP.COM) Sports and entertainment marketing veterans Barbara Perry and Howe Burch announce today that they are combining their significant professional experience and capabilities in the formation of PERRYBURCH, a new sports and entertainment marketing resource.

Co-headquartered in Baltimore and Philadelphia, the new firm will leverage the principals’ vast knowledge of the sports and entertainment marketing landscape and their seasoned approach to finding creative and innovative solutions. PERRYBURCH will assist companies, properties and organizations to exploit the power of strategic sports and entertainment marketing initiatives to drive their businesses and their brands.

Ms. Perry, former Senior Vice President at IMG, has more than 25 years experience promoting, directing and managing over 250 sports and entertainment marketing events throughout the world. From sponsorship rights negotiation to program activation, she has facilitated partnerships with top sports and entertainment marketing properties from the Kentucky Derby to Fashion Week.

Ms. Perry has also served as agent for Jennifer Capriati, three-time Grand Slam champion and a former number one player on the WTA Tour. She serves on the board of the National Sports Marketing Network and the Philadelphia Sports Congress. She is a member of the St. John’s University Hall of Fame.

In her new capacity, Ms. Perry has been retained by World Team Tennis and its founder, tennis legend Billie Jean King to assist in sponsorship sales for the WTT and its related events, as well as to secure corporate partnerships for Ms. King.

Additionally, Ms. Perry will provide consulting services to IMG, the world’s premier sports, entertainment and media company, related to event marketing sponsorship sales and activation in the areas of tennis and action sports.

Mr. Burch has more than 25 years marketing experience on both the agency and client side with Doner Advertising and global sportswear brands Reebok and Fila.

As VP/U.S. Marketing at Reebok and SVP/Marketing at Fila, Mr. Burch was responsible for the planning, development and management of integrated brand marketing plans. He has vast experience in the sports industry in the areas of brand strategy, advertising and media, athlete and event sponsorship, strategic alliances and grassroots marketing.

During his career, Mr. Burch has structured fully integrated product merchandising and marketing plans around some of the biggest icons in the sports world including Derek Jeter, Grant, Hill, Barry Bonds, Jennifer Capriati and Peyton Manning. While at Fila, he led the company’s global sponsorship activation plans for the US Open Tennis Championships and the ATP Tour’s Tennis Masters Series.

Mr. Burch has been recognized by Advertising Age in their “Marketing 100” as one of the country’s top marketing professionals and has been named to the Sporting News list of “The Top 100 Most Powerful People In Sports.”

PERRYBURCH will provide full-service capabilities across the entire sports and entertainment marketing mix.

This will include Corporate Consulting in the areas of sports and entertainment marketing and sponsorship strategy, portfolio audit and assessment; Event Marketing in the areas of concept development, operations, sponsorship sales and activation; Consumer Promotion in the areas of strategic alliances, grassroots marketing and cause marketing,; Negotiations in the areas of event contracts, sponsorship packages and endorsement agreements; Marketing Communications in the area of advertising and media consulting and sports-related public relations.

In launching the company, PERRYBURCH will serve as an additional marketing resource for the sports practice at the esteemed law firm of Williams & Connolly LLC in Washington, D.C. The practice currently represents more than 30 NBA and MLB players including Tim Duncan, Grant Hill, Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Melvin Mora, Chris Young and Rickie Weeks.
