Brave/Architecture Opens Buenos Aires Office

HOUSTON, TX. - Brave/Architecture has opened an office in Buenos Aires to provide architectural services to companies with activities in South America, announced Fernando L. Brave, AIA, LEED AP, principal of the Houston-based firm.

"We are seeing an increasing demand for architectural services in South America," said Brave, a native of Argentina. "Expanding our services to that part of the world enables us to assist companies and individuals with project needs in that dynamic and emerging market. Our Buenos Aires office coordinates the local aspect of services which are provided to the area from Houston and with US standards."

Brave/Architecture's Buenos Aires office provides a comprehensive suite of architectural and engineering services, including architecture, interior design, planning, feasibility studies, construction administration and management. Pre-development services such as site identification support and real estate development are also provided.

Brave's Latin American design projects currently underway include an office/warehouse conversion, a tourist lodge in Patagonia and several residential projects.

Current projects in the Houston area include the West Orem Family YMCA, The Women's Shelter in Baytown, and a new 110,000 square-foot headquarters facility for Tube Supply in Houston.

Formed in 2002, Brave/Architecture is a multidisciplinary firm offering a wide range of services from complete architecture and engineering projects to additions, renovations, and planning.

Houston-area projects completed by Brave/Architecture include several retail centers, the New Horizon Family Center and the Alief Family YMCA. The recipient of numerous awards, the firm received an Honor award in architecture in the AIA Houston Design Awards 2005 for De Santos Gallery in Houston. The same project also won an Honor award in the Texas Society of Architects Design Awards 2005.

Fernando L. Brave, AIA, LEED AP, graduated from the University of Houston in 1988 with a Master of Architecture degree. He is currently a professor of design at the University of Houston College of Architecture, where he teaches a third-year design studio. He is a board member of the Rice Design Alliance and the Houston Chamber Orchestra and is a past president of Casa Argentina de Houston.
