Wenatchee's Mountain Air Gear Plans Re-Opening After Devastating December Fire

Wenatchee, Washington, March 2007 – Just four months after a devastating fire destroyed their business, Kyle and Kevin Cox plan to re-open Mountain Air Gear on April 20, 2007. Although their inventory and business records were lost in a tragic fire last December, the brothers knew they would re-open soon. It was just a question of where and when.

With a lot of hard work and heartfelt community support, the Cox brothers will unveil their new store at a grand re-opening celebration on April 20 and 21. Located at 1111 Walla Walla Avenue next to Star Rentals, Mountain Air Gear is situated in the middle of the new waterfront development area. The new store features 4,500 square feet of retail space, 1,000 square feet larger than the previous store. The larger space will allow Mountain Air Gear to carry more outdoor apparel and to increase its inventory.

“The community has been very supportive of us as we’ve rebuilt our business,” Kyle Cox said. “We hope they’ll come see us at our new location to celebrate our re-opening and to see how we’ve grown.”

The two-day grand re-opening celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 20 and 21. Guests will be entered into a drawing for one of two $75 Mountain Air Gear gift certificates. Mountain Air Gear will also offer 20% storewide savings and a gear raffle to support Carly Reed with Backpacker Magazine’s “Summit for Someone.”
