Hip-Hop World Positions Shoeshield to Work With Music Industry

Louisiana/Berlin - Hip-Hop World is pleased to announce that the shoe accessory company and the inventor of the Shoeshield is in the process of pursuing artists and music labels in order to bring them on board to the wave of the future for generation YouTube.

Since 1997 and the introduction of the MP3 and CD/DVD burners, the music industry has essentially been rearranging chairs on the Titanic. CDs, cassettes, vinyl, 8-track tapes. The way the baby boomers used to consume music is effectively over. An increasing number of music labels have been actively seeking alternative ways to market their artists and extend their product lines. Many have teamed up with computer corporations, which U2 did with Apple to create a U2 branded iPod, while others have traveled the fashion route. The Blackeyed Peas and Jessica Simpson have appeared in Skeechers ads, Jay-Z created his own clothing line and Missy Elliot is working with Adidas. More recently, Madonna has teamed up with H&M to design a special line of clothing specifically for the trend setting retailer and Britney Spears has her own perfume.

According to the BBC, US CD sales fell by 20% in 2006 and digital music downloads have failed to compensate for the fall. As sales of compact discs continue to dwindle, artists have found that their major cash cow now comes via touring and t-shirt sales. As more and more artists decide that it is vital to find business partners, Shoeshield is positioning itself as a viable option for A-list artists interested in having an artist branded product that is simultaneously hip and unique.

Via grassroots marketing techniques such as blogging, supporting exclusive parties and contests, as well as developing a solid presence on social networking communities the company is steadily building a following among young adults and expanding its presence. The company recently supported an online contest for NAL/JAM, a division of Penguin and is sponsoring a party for one of their young, up-and-coming novelists.
