April 01, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Chicken Soup for the Soul is looking for inspirational, warm, and heartfelt stories for publication in Chicken Soup for the Divorced Soul.

The submission deadline is May 1, 2007. Publication will be in the spring of 2008.

The editors of the book are looking for stories that cover all aspects of divorce, from every family member’s perspective. Although going through a divorce is a very difficult, and sometimes bitter, process, submitted stories should not dwell bitterness. They should be about hope and encouragement for divorced people or people going through a divorce, letting them know that they are not alone.

Tentative chapter subjects include:

1. Are You Really Sure? (Making the decision to divorce)
2. Is This Really Happening? (When it’s not your decision to divorce)
3. Insights and Wisdom
4. A Kid’s Perspective
5. One Day, We’ll Laugh About This
6. Forgiveness
7. Special Moments and Miracles
8. Staying Friends?
9. Now What? (New Beginnings)
10. Dating Again
11. Creating New Families

Submissions should be heartwarming, true stories (1,000 words or less) that will touch readers and make them laugh, cry, or sigh. Stories should be positive, universal, and non-controversial. Also, the “point” or “message” should be evident without preaching. No essays, commentaries, tributes, philosophical, or biographical pieces will be accepted.

For each story published in the book, a 50-word biography will be included about the author and a permission fee of $200 per story will be paid.
