Outsourcing 101 – Offshoring for Beginners

June 19, 2004 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Outsourcing has become a "charged" word. It is an important concept to understand because of its business applications (both for corporations and for small businesses) and because of its political implications.

For these reasons, The Outsourcing Times has announced the launch of a special report, "Outsourcing 101 – Offshoring for Beginners". The report is available online at http://www.blogsource.org/blog/2004/06/outsourcing_101.html .

Information in the guide is divided into five sections: The Definition of Outsourcing; Business Process Outsourcing; The Roots of Outsourcing; Offshore Outsourcing; and, The Politics of "Offshoring".

The report was edited by Michael Johnston of The Outsourcing Times (http://www.blogsource.org). "The offshoring issue has become a spark for several differing political agendas. We're trying to give people an objective starting point to weigh the different factors, whether they are considering outsourcing as a solution for their small business or trying to make an informed voting decision come November," said Johnston.
