Bishop David G. Evans, pastor of the 27,000-member Bethany Baptist Church, Prelate of the Abundant Harvest Fellowship of Churches (consisting of 175 churches) and Host of On Point, a live call-in radio talk show, has a passion for people. It’s that passion and desire to see people whole that encouraged him to write his first book, Healed Without Scars, which has already sold an astounding 400,000 copies.

As a complement to the popular book, Evans released a CD, Healed Without Scars, a mixture of contemporary and traditional gospel music, featuring well-known songwriter and producer Lonnie Hunter, who serves as minister of music at Bethany Baptist Church. “The Harvest”, the lead single from the CD, has been heard on more than 300 radio stations across the country with the CD reaching to #15 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart.

Bishop Evans has seen national acclaim for Healed Without Scars, a writing that has made him the best-selling author in publisher Whitaker House history. Citing his own troubled upbringing and nuggets from scripture, Evans gives readers the keys to deliverance from hurts and pains of the past. “I wrote the book after counseling countless people for years,” says Evans. “We’ve been saved in the public eye, but our private wounds…somehow we’ve been convinced that we’re to carry those into glory. But Jesus said he came to heal those who are bruised and to set the captives free.”

Evans is also known for his role as frequent host on the Trinity Broadcast Network, a network where his ministry is seen each Sunday at 1PM (EST); his broadcast can also be viewed on BET on Sundays at 6AM (EST) and on StreamingFaith.com. In 1990, Bethany Baptist Church had 29 members and now touts more than 27,000. The church, located in Lindenwold, NJ, is in the process of building a senior housing facility, a recreation center, and a medical center and has instituted perhaps the largest faith-based mortgage lending institution in the country, licensed in all 50 states.
