April 10, 2007: ST. CHARLES, MO – John Cavanagh and Bob Shallenberger of Highland Homes are helping sponsor “Cruising Into Spring,” a benefit event for ShowMe Aquatics and Fitness.

Highland Homes recently broke ground for Highland Park, a new GREEN community in St. Peters. The University City-based builder is also working on another GREEN development in O’Fallon, Highland Terrace.

“As we begin building in St. Charles County, we look forward to working with local organizations and giving back to the community,” Bob Shallenberger, co-founder of Highland Homes, said.

The event and auction will be held on April 22 at Travenas Restaurant & Bar. All proceeds raised at the event will benefit ShowMe Aquatics & Fitness. For more information and a full list of sponsors, visit http://www.showmeaquatics.org/events2.html.

The mission of ShowMe Aquatics and Fitness is to promote health, fitness and quality of life in an environment that is accommodating, accessible and as barrier-free as possible. The St. Charles-based organization’s Aqua Ability Program provides aquatic therapy at five locations in the St. Louis area. Additionally, ShowMe Aquatics and Fitness is currently working on The Freedom Center, a $25-million accessible, warm-water fitness complex that will provide people of all ages and abilities with exercise, therapy, and recreation.

Established in 2003 by John Cavanagh and Bob Shallenberger, Highland Homes has rapidly become a $16 million company, as well as the #1 fastest-growing private company in St. Louis. As St. Louis’ 20th largest homebuilder, Highland Homes quickly found its niche building new homes that complement existing communities in the general St. Louis Central Corridor as well as in St. Charles County. Highland Homes is a green builder that develops environmentally-responsible homes which appeal to customers’ lifestyles with “urban friendly” floor plans and extensive options.
