Marketplace Books Releases New Natenberg Book: Option Volatility Trading Strategies

Sheldon Natenberg, one of the world’s most acclaimed volatility experts and a “Trader’s Hall of Fame” award recipient, just released his newest book, Option Volatility Trading Strategies, through publisher Marketplace Books.

The release of this book comes at an opportune time. On March 16, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that, for the second week in a row, the Exchange had its busiest week of trading activity for options on the S&P 500 Index (SPX) in CBOE history. Volume between March 12 to 19 reached a reported 5,051,009 contracts traded, breaking all previous weekly volume records.

In his new book, Natenberg personally guides each reader on harnessing the fundamental element of options trading – volatility. With over two decades of options trading experience, the legendary trading success channels his expertise to the public.

Volatility, a vital element that determines the level of option prices, measures the rate and magnitude of the change of prices, up or down, of an underlying asset. If volatility is high, the premium on the option will be relatively high, and vice versa.

Natenberg delineates the differences among historical volatility, future volatility, and implied volatility. He also provides clear insight on option-trading strategies, formulas, and definitions. ###
