Middle School Student Heads to 2007 State Hockey Championships
(PRLEAP.COM) San Diego, CA, April 10, 2007 — TJ Hunt a middle school student in San Diego qualified for the 2007 State Hockey Championships with the help of his Strength Coach Kevin Moses.
“Out of a field of 26 hockey teams and almost 400 Jr. Hockey Players I was able to qualify and head to the 2007 State Championships on April 14th with the San Diego Gulls Jr. Hockey Team because of my Strength Coach Kevin Moses of www.mosesinhomefitness.com”, said TJ Hunt.
“TJ has been playing hockey since he was 4 years old and always had a passion for the game” said Tom Hunt, TJ’s Father.
Elaine, TJ’s mom first contacted Pure Motion Fitness (www.puremotionfts.com) six months ago because TJ wanted to become the fastest forward in the Jr. League.
Pure Motion Fitness turned to Kevin Moses for his experience training Athletes. Kevin specializes in Core workout exercises and weight training exercises that are specific to the athlete’s needs.
“When I first meet TJ his goal was to gain strength and size” said Moses. His exercise routines have been focused on strength, agility and speed.
TJ trains once a week at Pure Motion Fitness studio in Poway during rigorous 45 minute sessions which include:
• Work Out Routines for Muscle Building
• Core workout exercises
• Weight training exercises
• Exercises using the stability ball
• Resistance band workouts for upper body strength
Even though TJ does not train on the ice, Moses Fitness creates an environment that compares to the unstable factors of being on the ice when doing exercises using the stability ball. “The better we can mimic the activities of his sport, the better he will play”, said Moses.
The recent surge of sport specific exercises in an athlete’s strength and conditioning program have shown immediate results in their game performance. Any athlete can improve. Even professionals train during their off season in order to increase speed, power, flexibility and core strength.
Athletes serious about their game should consult with a Strength Coach. Strength and Conditioning Coaches determine athlete’s needs in order to improve on their weak points.
