Rochester, NY – The 39th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival will be held on July 14th and 15th in the historic Corn Hill district. The Festival will run from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday.
The Festival is consistently ranked among the nation’s top 20 art shows, and historically attracts between 200,000 to 300,000 visitors. The Festival is organized and run by members of the Corn Hill Neighbors Association who ensure that each year the Festival is a cultural and educational experience for all festival goers.

At the Festival, diverse styles of art line the streets of this urban neighborhood, and artists’ work enhances the scenery of the Festival. The Festival draws its appeal by showcasing arts and crafts from over 400 artists across the U.S. and Canada. Applications from a wide range of artists have been collected, and the jurying is in progress. The Corn Hill district serves as a perfect setting for the Arts Festival in mid-July, with one of the Festival’s focal points at Lunsford Circle Park. The park features a transformed Victorian Gazebo, serving as one of the four main stages, and is filled with music, art, and exhibitors throughout the two days. The neighborhood is a pleasant mix of both old and new, with 19th Century Victorian homes and 20th Century townhouses complementing the historic architecture of the area, as well as the riverfront development.

Part of the Festival’s annual success is its organization. Each year, the Corn Hill Neighbors Association enlists an army of volunteers who work year round to ensure that the Festival runs smoothly. Artists and festival-goers alike are always impressed by the professional manner in which the volunteers coordinate and run the event.

The Corn Hill Neighbors Association is pleased to announce that a Poster Artist for this year has been selected, and is looking forward to the artist’s design unveiling at the June 29 media event, followed by the Annual Neighbors picnic.

Entertainment is often one of the highlights of the Festival. The Corn Hill Neighbors Association is actively sampling and booking talent to ensure a diverse range of styles of entertainment will be represented at the Festival. Some of the featured artists confirmed at the Festival include the U.S. Army 98th Division Band, Dave McGrath, Steve Lyons and the Believers, and Los Blancos. Four stages for music and other performances will be featured at the Festival. The largest entertainment area is located within the food court, where attendees can peruse sponsor exhibits, take a break from the Festival, and sample eclectic food from over 40 vendors. In this large open area, guests can relax in the sun or cool off in the shade of the tents, which provide comfortable seating for several hundred people.

The Corn Hill Neighbors Association dedicate themselves to making sure this event is a family friendly experience that everyone can enjoy, and that the Corn Hill district can benefit from. The Festival would not be successful without the support of our sponsors whose donations contribute to ongoing improvement in the Corn Hill district. This Neighbors Association is pleased to thank Rochester Gas and Electric, and Wegmans who, once again, are demonstrating their commitment with their sponsorship. One featured sponsor, new this year, is the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive, with their ‘Highway to the Future – Mobile Hybrid Experience’ which will educate festival goers on hybrid technology and alternative fuels.

Funds raised during the Corn Hill Arts Festival, as well as through sponsorship, are used by the Neighbors Association for community improvement, ranging from providing low interest home improvement loans to neighbors, to protecting and promoting the historical character and beauty of the area. The Neighbors Association historically encourages cultural diversity, and strives to foster good relations not only within the neighborhood, but its surrounding communities as well.
