Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) today announced it has been recognized as the leader of revenue cycle management (RCM) service providers in India in the latest ValueNotes Research study

In the study, “US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management: Offshoring of Medical Coding and Billing Services,” Perot Systems was recognized as “a winner” in the RCM space, and was ranked first among the ten largest service providers in terms of manpower and breadth of capabilities. With 2,200 people, Perot Systems has the largest number of associates dedicated to RCM than any service provider in the country.

ValueNotes Research is a leading independent research firm that focuses on business process outsourcing practices. The group’s most recent report evaluated the capabilities of companies offering end-to-end revenue cycle management services with operations in India.

As noted in the study, Perot Systems provides the widest variety of RCM services in India, resolving more than $6 billion of receivables per year for hospitals, physician groups, and billing companies. The company’s healthcare transformation model, aimed at lowering the healthcare cost trend, integrates business process solutions, applications development and infrastructure services. This combination has helped Perot Systems grow its US-based healthcare clients to more than 590 care delivery organizations.

“Through our India and Manila operations, Perot Systems delivers over 100 million highly complex transactions with a high degree of accuracy rates, said Vardhman Jain, managing director of Perot Systems’ Insurance and Business Process Solutions operations in India and Manila. “We work with 20 different platform technologies, make over 4 million phone calls to insurance companies, and process over 5 million medical charts per annum.”

“Perot Systems’ best practices and proprietary software for workflow automation and knowledge management, along with the healthcare expertise of our people, provides us the capability to not just manage this complexity, but also enables us to respond nimbly to our customers’ changing needs,“ added Jain.
Padma Ravichander, managing director of the company’s global applications solutions division and senior executive for Perot Systems in India and Asia-Pacific said, “Perot Systems continues to expand as a global leader in IT and business process healthcare services. Today, more than one-third of our associates working around the world are passionately committed to healthcare. Their commitment to our success makes this recognition in India particularly gratifying.”

“As Perot Systems celebrates its tenth year of providing these services in India, this honor is especially timely,” said Anurag Jain, president of the company’s Insurance and Business Process Solutions Group. “Perot Systems’ business process services expertise in this market helps our clients achieve accurate, and reliable results while lowering costs and improving quality.”

ValueNotes produced the study to help providers and other care delivery organization sort out the capabilities of service providers. “Large buyers of RCM services prefer to deal with fewer vendors, who provide end-to-end services under one roof. As a result, leading service providers are aggressively extending their capabilities - in order to position themselves as a full cycle service providers,” said Arun Jethmalani, ValueNotes Research president and founder.

Perot Systems continues to hire aggressively in India for its call centers, medical coding, and transaction processing operations. In the next few years, the company expects to significantly grow its Indian-based operations to meet the increased demand for business process services by healthcare providers.
