Qedis Appoints John Butterworth to Expand Team of Telecommunications and Media Industry Specialists

(PRLEAP.COM) London, April 2007: Qedis, a UK-based management consultancy focused on increasing the value that IT delivers to the business, has expanded its team of telecommunications industry specialists with the appointment of John Butterworth, who joins Qedis from Virgin Media (formerly ntl:Telewest). John will work with senior IS decision makers in the Telecommunications and Media sector to deliver IS and business transformation.

John brings nine years’ consultancy and technology experience to Qedis, with particular expertise in IT architecture, business operations, project management and change management.

John worked at ntl:Telewest, now Virgin Media, from 1998-2007 and was instrumental in streamlining the IT organisation and delivering significant cost savings back to the business. He helped define their customer contact strategy; led a vendor rationalisation programme; developed a simplified customer front end system; and led the transformation of field engineer systems and processes. His passion for transforming the customer experience and the design of end to end processes led to his appointment as customer journey champion within the business.

John is actively involved in the Telecommunications and Media sector, regularly speaking at industry conferences and chairing forums focusing on topical themes such as number portability and local loop unbundling.
