Russia Holidays - Steppes Travel organises privileged insight at Hermitage Museum

Steppes Travel (http://www.steppestravel.co.uk) has organised privileged insight for visitors at the Hermitage Museum.

Margaret and Ron Kinsey booked with Steppes Travel to visit St Petersburg. Before they travelled they learned from a TV programme that a dinner service ordered by Catherine the Great had a casserole dish with a picture of Pontypridd Bridge - Pontypridd being somewhere with which they had a personal connection. They found out that the dinner service was in the Hermitage but sadly for them it was not currently on display. That was until Steppes Travel started pulling some strings.

On arriving at the Hermitage, they were met by Lydia Liackhova, the curator of ceramics, who escorted them to a locked room where they were allowed a private viewing of the dinner service.

“On our way out of the room other members of the public tried to walk into the room, but they were met with a firm ‘Niet’ by Lydia. We had definitely been very lucky and privileged”, commented the Kinseys.

Justin Wateridge, MD of Steppes Travel, commented, “We are so pleased to have been able to help Margaret & Ron. For Steppes Travel, adding these additional touches is all part of the service and care we take with our clients.”
