Animation, Storyboarding, and Illustration: How to Get a Job Mark Simon Shares Animation Job Search Techniques

(PRLEAP.COM) April 2007 – On Monday, May 14, 11am-1pm, at the Embassy Suites Hotel 1100 SE 17 Street, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale students and interested guests will be able to meet Simon, see his video excerpts, and ask questions in his seminar “Get a Job in the Arts & Entertainment Industry – 12+1 Industry Secrets,” which focuses on storyboarding, animation, and getting started.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL — He has worked with Steve Spielberg and Tom Hanks, has over 20 years experience in live action and animation production for movies such as The Waterboy, and television such as seaQuestDSV, is an author, and runs two companies in Orlando, FL, with clients including Disney World, Universal, Sony, HBO, and Nickelodeon. Now, Mark Simon ventures south to share his inside secrets and to inspire would-be animators, storyboard artists, and illustrators at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

Simon’s television series of animated shorts, Timmy’s Lessons In Nature, which Simon developed, directed and produced, won Grand Prize in Nickelodeon’s and Animation Magazine’s first-ever Nicktoons Film Festival. His books include Storyboards: Motion In Art, a text used around the world to train storyboard artists, Facial Expressions, a photo reference guide for artists, Your Resume Sucks, (www.YourResumeSucks.biz) a resume guide for the entertainment industry, and The Art Direction Workbook, a classroom text for designing for the film and TV industries.
