RALEIGH, N.C. – Ragsdale Liggett PLLC has announced that Melissa Dewey Brumback, a partner in the firm’s litigation department, has been appointed as the general counsel to the North Carolina Jaycees. In this role, Brumback will advise the Jaycees’ state president, vice presidents, and staff on legal issues that involve the organization.

Brumback’s involvement in the Jaycees dates back to 2002 when she re-chartered the Chapel Hill chapter, resurrecting what had been a dormant organization. Since then, she has served in several Jaycees leadership positions. Through her involvement in the organization, Brumback has raised funds for the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC and has led and participated in fund-raising efforts for the Duke Cancer Center, Lake Waccamaw Boys’ and Girls’ Home, the victims of Hurricane Katrina and other worthy causes. For these outstanding efforts, the Jaycees awarded Brumback with their North Central Region Membership Award in 2003 and their “All-Star Team” award in 2004.
