Tech Council of Maryland Announces 2007 Annual Tech Award Winners

(PRLEAP.COM) Rockville, MD – The Tech Council of Maryland/MdBio (TCM) today announced the winners of the 2007 Annual Tech Awards. The awards were given last night during the Annual Tech Awards Celebration, which had the largest turnout in this history of the Tech Council of Maryland.

The Award winners were:

• Technology Advocate of the Year: Douglas M. Duncan, Former Montgomery County Executive, and University of Maryland, College Park, as Vice President for Administrative Affairs.

• Executive of the Year: John Peeler, President, JDSU Communications Test & Management Division

• High Technology Firm of the Year: CNSI (Client Network Services, Inc.)

• Biotechnology Firm of the Year: Osiris Therapeutics, Inc.

• Government Contracting Firm of the Year: AAI Corporation

• Service Provider of the Year: Arent Fox

Each year, the Tech Council of Maryland/MdBio honors Maryland technology businesses and the leaders who have made outstanding contributions within their respective categories.

“Last night’s Tech Awards Celebration certainly lived up to its reputation as Maryland’s best night of networking. More than 900 attendees heard from Lt. Governor Anthony Brown and from Congressman Chris Van Hollen, who underscored the importance of stem cell research to the state’s economy,” said Julie Coons, CEO of TCM/MdBio.
