Find the Perfect Bike Frame Size

May 11, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Sports News
Bike and accessory store, CycleXpress has launched a unique fitting device at its Lancashire shop which measures the body’s dimensions for the perfect fitting bike frame within minutes.

The only one of its kind in the UK, the Body Scanner uses laser technology, eliminating the need for any physical contact, and provides instant results to enable the bike frame with the optimal ergonomic seating position to be found. Saddle height, saddle position, stem rise and the distance between saddle and handle bar are all measured to help cyclists to find a frame adjusted to their body dimensions. Specific problems relating to pressure on the neck, spinal column, wrist and knee joints can all be minimised allowing cyclists to focus on comfort and efficiency.

The machine was developed in conjunction with a team of orthopaedics, physiotherapists, cyclists, engineers and bicycle retailers. Matt Middleton, owner of CycleXpress comments “All feedback received in the shop so far has been positive, with 100% of customers being measured going on to find the perfect bike!”
