Best Selling Author Mary Higgins Clark’s 'Ghost Ship' Sails into Arcadia’s Barnhart School

New York Times best-selling author Mary Higgins Clark visited Barnhart School in Arcadia to read excerpts from her first children’s book, Ghost Ship.

Set in Cape Cod, Ghost Ship is the story of a friendship between two boys, one visiting his grandmother on summer vacation, the other a cabin boy for a sea captain who tells stories of his adventures on the high seas. Ghost Ship is Clark’s first children’s book. The book is illustrated in full color by award winning children’s book illustrator Wendell Minor. Ms. Clark signed copies of her book and took questions from the students like “When you’re writing do you scare yourself? Her answer: “ Yes, that’s how I know I wrote something good!”

Mary Higgins Clark is the author of 26 suspense novels, three collections of short stories, a historical novel and a memoir; her books are worldwide bestsellers, with over 85 million copies in print in the U.S. Ms. Clark will also made an appearance the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at UCLA.
