The OC Pavilion Announces Friday Night Jazz at The Vault VIP

The OC Pavilion has announced the Friday night jazz concert series featuring top local jazz performers in The Vault VIP lounge. Once a basement vault for a large bank, The Vault has been transformed into a plush lounge with hightop tables, leather sofas, intricate art pieces and romantic lighting. The Andrew Carney Collective – May 18th
Since the age of fifteen, Andrew Carney has been playing trumpet and flugelhorn professionally. For over twenty five years Andrew has had the honor of working with such artists as Michael Jackson, Michael Bolton, Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Wayne Henderson, Bobby Lyle, Chaka Khan, Brenda Russell, the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and Randi Crawford.

Andrew is often heard in many of the leading restaurants and clubs throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. You may have unknowingly heard him playing in the television commercials for Pechanga Indian Casino, Nutra Systems, Los Angeles Times, A.M./P.M. Mini Markets, or perhaps even an episode or two of the Saturday morning cartoon, Spiderman. It’s also possible that you may have seen Andrew in movies such as Starsky and Hutch, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Dorothy Day, or the television shows Extra and Second Time Around.

Composer, songwriter, arranger, educator, and performer, Andrew Carney covers a broad range of music styles. He has recorded with such artists as Billy Mitchell, John Bolivar, Yve Evans, Tommy Walker, Justo Almario, and Larry Carlton. His debut CD entitled, “Home Again” is now accompanied by his latest release, “Playtime”.

Jennifer Hart and Llew Mathews – June 1st
Jennifer Hart's bluesy, voice combines the luster of Billie Holiday and the mellowness of Sarah Vaughan. Her repertoire spotlights Duke Ellington to Elton John… Fats Waller to Andrew Lloyd Weber.

An accomplished vocalist who sings phonetically in eight languages, and plays a soulful piano, Jennifer can make the room jump with a joyful tempo, give you chills with a raspy ballad, or create a hush with a tender love song.

After touring Scandinavia, Northern Europe and Singapore, performing in jazz clubs, piano bars, festivals and concerts, Jennifer has made her home in Southern California. She truly is multi-talented! She has appeared as guest vocal soloist with the Cypress Pops Orchestra, the Capistrano Valley Symphony, and is currently the featured vocalist with the Frank Amoss Orchestra and Arlene and the Guys Big Band and the Jazz Lite Octet .

Jack Wood and Peggie Perkins – June 8th
Singer Jack Wood, began his career in the 1980’s at a night club near Los Angeles called, Che Dante. Bassist John Clayton and drummer, Jeff Hamilton, used to play that club in those days. Jeff Hamilton eventually played drums on Jack’s first CD, “Baby, Baby, All The Time” that came out in late 1995.

Jack recently completed his second album, Jazz and the Movies with such notables as Bill Miller, pianist for Frank Sinatra for more than forty years; Joe La Barbera, drummer for Tony Bennet and Bill Evans; John Pisano, guitarist on two of Diana Kralls’ Grammy winning CD’s; and Pete Christlieb, tenor saxophonist with Doc Severinsen for many years and one of the top jazz players in the world.

Performing with Jack, Peggie is living her dream every day by sharing her gift and love of music with all who come in contact with her! An incredible fan base follows her wherever and whenever they can. Truly connected to her music and her audience, her energy is contagious and all who see her know she loves what she does.

Peggie has a diverse repertoire, including Standards, R & B, Country, Rock and Blues. She has been on television in Canada, toured Japan in a large production show and was recently selected and won two rounds in the KLAC Radio Fabulous Finds contest. Then she went on to compete with 12 other finalists and won the Fabulous Finds Finale for 2003 On July 29,2004 at Buena Park Downtown.
