Pasadena Foster Care Charity Brings Magic to Children At Risk: Magic Castle Magicians Volunteer for Children at Hillsides

(PRLEAP.COM) Magicians from the Magic Castle volunteered to perform for the children at Hillsides, a Pasadena charity that creates safe places for children in foster care and prevents the cycle of abuse for children at risk and their families. Treating them to amazing slights of hand, Victor Globa, Todd Brown and Amos Levkovitch brought magic into the lives of these children, making them smile, laugh and applaud uproariously.

Victor Globa entertained the crowd with a variety of balloon tricks, bringing up children from the audience to participate. Each foster care child smiled and laughed as Globa’s tricks continued to not only fool them, but the entire audience.

Magician Todd Brown induced many laughs with his coin tricks and his creation of the American flag with scraps of fabric. He included several children in his tricks making them wiggle, say magic words and hold a variety of wands that never seemed to work correctly. Many of the children were falling out of the chairs with laughter at Brown’s antics.

While Victor Globa and Todd Brown made the children laugh, Amos Levkovitch awed them with his astounding act by pulling birds out of scarves, confetti and seemingly the air. The children sat in awe of his skills applauding every time a new white dove appeared. When Levkovitch made all of his birds disappear, the children’s shocked faces conveyed their admiration of his magical skills.

Victor Globa, a member of the Outreach Committee for the Magic Castle, has been volunteering his magic skills for charity for fifteen years. When asked why he began his volunteer work he said, "I want to show my children that we can give back in many ways and this is a wonderful way to give back to our community."

"It is always wonderful to see these foster care children, who haven’t had the best of lives, smile and be entertained so easily,” said Laura Kelso, director of community resources for Hillsides. “We really appreciate when groups like the Magic Castle come to Hillsides and make a child’s day special."
