ICELANDAIR LAUNCHES SERVICE FROM HALIFAX, CANADA

COLUMBIA, MD, May 21, 2007 - Icelandair began service from Halifax, Nova Scotia on Thursday with flight #606 departing Halifax International at 10:00 p.m. local time. Regular service from Halifax to Iceland will continue through September with three flights per week (Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays). The four-hour flight will allow quick and easy connections to Icelandair’s destinations in Scandinavia, Great Britain and Continental Europe via the airline’s hub in Reykjavik, Iceland.

This year, Icelandair celebrates 70 years of aviation with the announcement of record profits for 2006. Additionally, Icelandair announced new flights and new destinations for 2007 and pending orders for additional and updated aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, scheduled for delivery in 2010. 

Icelandair operates from Boston, New York-JFK, Baltimore/Washington, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Orlando Sanford and now Halifax. In addition to Reykjavik, Icelandair services destinations in Scandinavia (Copenhagen, Helsinki, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Bergen); Great Britain (London, Manchester, Glasgow); and Continental Europe (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris) through the airline’s hub in Iceland.
