Rita began her business in 2002 offering virtual assistance, specifically word processing services, to individuals, small companies, as well as corporations. Her goal is to expand her company by adding team members whose services will complement her current offerings rather than compete with them. Approximately six months ago, Rita hired a virtual assistant who provides transcription services. The Virtual Assistants (VAs) industry started approximately 10 years ago. The industry is gaining national recognition with articles both in the Wall Street Journal and Reader’s Digest.
