Elvis Nazi, Facts Distorted

Here in the UK, the tabloid newspaper, the Sun has been given what they call
"Shocking" pictures of Elvis Presley.

Sun reporter, Alex Peake writes, 'ELVIS Presley gives his most shocking performance ever … as a World War Two Nazi. The pictures — taken from a grainy half-hour home cine film — show The King wearing a Nazi cap and giving a sickening Nazi salute.'

The not so well informed writer goes on to say that the footage is believed to have been filmed in the 1960's while taking a boat trip with some friends.

The story has come from some guy named Mark Vernon, 34, who says he owns
the tape, Vernon said: “I was given it ages ago, I think when I used to own a bar. But I had never watched it. It wasn’t until I found it in the loft that I decided to. When I did I was shocked.”

If the Sun newspaper had bothered to contact Elvis-Express.com, we would have been more than happy to give them any information about this that they wanted.

So we will do that for them now.

The footage was filmed in the Summer of 1956 during a short break from his
career in Biloxi. It was taken by a gentleman called Eddie Bellman who organised a boat for Elvis, his mother and father, June Juanico (Elvis' then girlfriend) and some friends to go deep sea fishing.

"I brought a bunch of German officer caps back from World War 2" said Bellman.
June Juanico remembers: "Eddie brought these hats along because it was so hot
out on the water and he knew we would need to keep the sun of our heads."

Eddie Bellman added: "They put on the hats and started to fool around singing and impersonating German soldiers, it was very funny to see."
