From weighing the psychological benefits of nursing vs. breastfeeding to deciding “should my aging parent be at home or in a nursing home,” most people need concrete, practical advice to get them through the day. And … today’s harried individuals often don’t have the time to read appropriate books and journal articles or attend multi-sessions seminars. Hewlett’s Adult Developmental Center, Inc.’s Speakers’ Bureau can help. In fact, the Speakers’ Bureau was developed as a public service to provide such helpful information to our community.

Dr Michael J. Salmon, Dr. Tobi Abramson, Helen Hazan M.S.W., C.S.W., C.A.C., and Ira Landau, LCSW-R., CASAC., have created innovative workshops to enable community members to deal with specific challenges. Workshops last from one to one a half hours and can be tailored to meet group preferences. For example, some groups prefer lectures, some choose introductory remarks followed with questions and answer sessions, and others enjoy interactive experiences.

Among the many workshops offered are:

Self-Esteem and Success in School

Social Skills – for children of all ages

Adolescence: The "Scary" Years

Adoption Challenges

The Blended Family

Your Memory Attic: Letting Go and Moving Forward

Anger/Violence and Conflict Resolution

The Sandwich Generation

Reframing: Turing Your Destructive Knee-Jerk Negative Responses into Affirming Positive Ones

Golden Aging: Ensuring that Your Golden Years Sparkle

Parenting Your Adult Children

Dreamworks: Enhance Self- Discovery Through Understanding Your Dreams
