E-Learning without barriers- presentation of EU4ALL


(PRLEAP.COM) The non-profit organization e-ISOTIS (Information Society Open to Impairments), participated in e-learning conference “E-Learning without barriers, that took place at BFW in Dueren (Germany), on 23 of May as to present the European project EU4ALL related to ICT and disabilities.

More specifically, it presented the European project EU4ALL (www.eu4all-project.eu) that e-ISOTIS is involved in its implementation. Moreover, EU4ALL aim is to improve the efficiency and efficacy of implementing an open e-learning service architecture for ALL. To achieve a wide impact the approach taken is not to develop a single EU4ALL system but a standards based framework that facilitates the integration of the approach with a wide range of eLearning systems.


This project is a European one that comprises 13 organisations from 7 different member states. It started on 1st of October 2006 and will last till 30th of September 2010.This project is partially financed by the DG Information Society Technologies under FP6.


e-ISOTIS is a non-profit making organisation founded in January 2004, that works for People with Disabilities, their families as well as key players of the ICT (Information Communication Technology) and training/research community from the whole globe. Currently, its network of disabled and elderly individuals as end-users, associations of disabled and elderly, ICT industry players, training/research institutions and universities expands not only through the whole Europe but also in Australia, China, US as well as in many other non-European countries.

e-ISOTIS¢ scope is to ensure that People with Disabilities, Elderly and their families are fully involved in the preparations and activities in line with the slogan "nothing about people with disabilities without people with disabilities". By supporting People with Disabilities and Elderly, e-ISOTIS aims at assisting its members in overcoming the existing barriers and experiencing an Information Society that opens up new opportunities for development, prosperity and quality of life.
