Franciscan Sisters June Song Free Download: Rory Block’s “Cry Out Loud”

(PRLEAP.COM) The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity have selected Rory Block’s “Cry Out Loud” as their June Franciscanized World song, available as a free download at www.fscc-calledtobe.org/living.asp through June. Rory Block is widely regarded as the top female interpreter and authority on traditional country blues worldwide, and five time winner of the W.C. Handy Blues Music Awards. “Cry Out Loud” is one of her more tender and reflective songs.

Considering the lyrics, Sister Mary Carol Kopecky, OSF of the Order’s Holy Family Music Conservatory in Manitowoc observes “How often people live unnoticed among us as they radiate Christ in their actions and person. Ultimately ‘Love is all that matters…’ “

“Cry Out Loud” is accompanied by an image for reflection “Disappeared (But Not From My Heart)” by artist Sushil Thapa. It was provided by the Center for Victims of Torture in Saint Paul, Minnesota

The Franciscanized World page and the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were recently featured in Time Magazine’s profile of Catholic religious orders innovatively utilizing the Internet.
