"Yes, this is New Jersey" - an exhibition of landscape paintings by Joe Kazimierczyk will be presented at Bell's Tavern in Lambertville, NJ from June 21 through August 2, 2007. "Yes, this is New Jersey" is the answer one must give to the question that people often ask when viewing Mr Kazimierczyk's artwork. Landscape painter Joe Kazimierczyk is a New Jersey native who paints the rural side of Hunterdon, Somerset and Mercer Counties. His paintings show the country scenes which are still pretty common, but are not what first comes to mind when someone thinks of New Jersey.

"As an artist, I'm always looking for the beautiful side of the ordinary scenes that surround us - it's there when you look for it" says Kazimierczyk. The fact that some of his paintings feature asphalt roadways and rusted guard rails supports this statement. His sometimes unlikely subjects still make beautiful paintings. But mostly, his paintings show just how much beautiful scenery can still be found in this area. His landscape paintings are done in a traditional and realistic style, showing a keen sense of light and color, and a knack for finding beauty in the most ordinary of scenes.

Self-taught as an artist, Kazimierczyk's work has received much recognition since he's been exhibiting and he has won awards from Ellarslie, Phillips Mill, Friends of the Delaware Canal, Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission and others. He does much of his painting outdoors, on location, and sometimes uses these smaller plein air pieces as inspiration for larger paintings done in the studio. Many of these larger studio works will be featured in this exhibition at Bell's Tavern.

Bell's Tavern is located on 183 N. Union Street in Lambertville, NJ 08530 and is open for dinner hours: Monday - Thursday 6 - 9:30 pm, Friday & Saturday 5- 10 pm, Sunday 5 - 9 pm. www.bellstavern.com
