Amatics Awarded South East Water Vehicle Tracking Contract

South East Water has awarded the contract for its lone worker alarm system to Amatics, following a successful three month trial. The water company needed to maximise the safety of its operational staff undertaking lone working roles. The three month trial, deployed across fifteen vehicles within the Water Sampling department, was used to assess the effectiveness of the Amatics system as a lone working solution. It was also seen as an opportunity to evaluate the benefits of the data produced by the system, particularly with regard to maximising existing resources and improving productivity.

South East Water’s Health and Safety Committee endorsed the Amatics solution in March 2006 on the basis of the trial results. Amatics was subsequently awarded the four year contract to deploy its GPS Mobile Work Management solution across the South East Water commercial fleet as a fully managed service.

Matt Hersey, Business Efficiency Analyst for South East Water, said: “Amatics have been awarded the contract following a trial that demonstrated a consistently high quality of service across the entire company region, including a number of relatively rural locations.”

Full roll-out of the system to 136 South East Water vehicles will commence in July 2006, when all drivers will be issued with personal alert fobs, in addition to driver alert buttons installed in the vehicles. Amatics will continue to work closely with South East Water throughout the contract term to ensure that the system delivers maximum operational benefits and return on investment.

Matt Hersey added: “We have been appreciative of Amatics’ professionalism and experience with regard to maximising the systems capability for the benefit of South East Water, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Amatics into the years ahead.”

Amatics MD John Wright said: “We have enjoyed working closely with Matt Hersey and his team at South East Water to develop a solution that meets their demanding lone worker requirements. As with our other utilities customers, we look forward to assisting them to ensure that they achieve the considerable benefits that our telematics solution promises.”
