ICI HOMES TO OFFER "EFACTOR" SEMINARS TO TEACH NEW HOME BUYERS ABOUT NEW "GREEN" BUILDING & ENERGY CONSERVATION
(
PRLEAP.COM) DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - ICI Homes, which ranks as one of the nation’s top 100
home builders and community developers, will host it’s first in a series of seminars at ICI Homes’ corporate headquarters on Beville Road in Daytona Beach. These seminars will help new home buyers learn about the ICI Homes "
EFACTOR" which includes energy efficient, high-performance technology with healthier living and "green" home building efforts to develop more
environmentally responsible homes.
"Today, we are building new homes and developing new communities that are more than twice as energy efficient as we could build even 10 years ago," said Rosemary Messina, vice president of sales and marketing at ICI Homes in Daytona Beach.
"We all know this is an important effort and we all want to participate. We decided to host EFACTOR seminars because we have had dozens of requests for information from prospective home buyers and existing home owners," Messina said.
Steve Reeger, ICI Homes’ special projects coordinator said the ICI Homes EFACTOR is all about comfort, healthier living, saving energy and saving money. "ICI Homes’
environmentally responsible EFACTOR homes, as designed, are guaranteed to save the homeowner as much as 40 percent on their energy bill." This has been determined by Masco Company, the energy efficiency rating firm who has been working with ICI Homes on EFACTOR.
EFACTOR homes include:
Foam insulated roof and walls that protects your home against moisture and reduces noise.
Low-E windows and doors that reflect sunlight, keeping energy within the home and keeping heat and sunlight out that can heat up and fade carpeting and furniture;
Upgraded Air-conditioning system - upgraded from the standard energy code requirement of 13 SEER, ICI Homes uses 14 SEER equipment of which is 10 percent more efficient.
Variable speed air-handler – a quieter more efficiently running system that reduces noise helps control indoor humidity.
Moved the air handler and A/C duct work into conditioned space rather than the traditional places of the hot garage and attic.
All of the electrical components in the EFACTOR Homes are Energy Star Rated, as established by the Dept. of Energy. Flourescent lighting is one, a programmable thermostat, exhaust fans in the bathrooms, ceiling fans and appliances.
Carbon monoxide alarms are also installed in every ICI Home for health and safety.
ICI Homes extends a three-year heating and cooling energy use guarantee. This guarantees the energy used to heat and cool your home will not exceed the usage listed. ICI Homes also extends a three-year comfort guarantee whereby the temperature will not vary by more than three degrees between set point of the thermostat and the center of any room within that zone.
