FRIES FILM GROUP, INSIGHT FILM STUDIOS, and CAPSTONE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP LLC ANNOUNCE THE SUMMER PRODUCTION OF THE PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY

Executive Producers Charles Fries of Fries Film Group, and Eric Keith and David Huffman of Capstone Entertainment Group today announced that they will produce THE PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY, written by Begonya Plaza and to be directed by Juan Ruiz-Anchía.

“Glenn Close is attached to play the role of Gala, Salvador Dalí’s wife,” said Eric Keith, Executive Producer and CEO of Capstone Entertainment Group, who in early January received a letter of intent from Ms. Close’s agent.

THE PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY is a rapturous one-year adventure in the company of artist Salvador Dalí and his lascivious muse, Gala, icons of the Twentieth Century, as seen through the eyes of a young man, Jonas, whose desire for celebrity and a taste of “la dolce vita” trips him into a whirlwind of extravagance and perversion, and turning him into just one more of the Dalís’ “boy toys.”

A young, naïve and prudish Jonas is hungry for a more colorful life than the one his Brooklyn Ghetto is offering. Influenced by European cinema, he dreams to one day be a star actor in a Fellini film and live “la dolce vita.”

This is a fictionalized story based on real life accounts, a flamboyant comedy, and a dark, perverse tragedy all wrapped up in one and set to a backdrop of New York, Cadaques, Spain, and Rome of the early Sixties.

This will be a directorial debut for Juan Ruiz-Anchía, whose more than twenty-year career as Director of Photography has paired him with directors like James Foley and David Mamet.

Production Dates: Production begins August 13th and wraps November 9th 2007.
