Olney Karvajal - an artist from the town of Union, department of Valle, Colombia is celebrating this 14th of June 2007 with a special showing of his art. Normally, and over the last 17 years of his life, which spans a career of 30 years in the arts, he has shown his work at the Mercado de Pulgas de San Pelayo, every Sunday, in the area of Usaquen.

However, this arts and crafts and occasional "flea" market has recently been recognised by Bogota as being part of the city´s cultural heritage and has even been destined by Discovery Channels Travel & Living program to be one of the top places to visit when in Bogota, along with such famed sites as Monserrate, the Gold Museum, and the Fernando Botero Museum.

For his tireless work of supporting the market Olney Karvajal has finally received recognition for his work and was invited by the director of the Casa del Valle - which represents the cultural aspects of this region of Colombia, in the country´s capital city of Bogota - to show his works of the last few years in a major exhibition where 20 important works will be shown.

The exhibition is being held at the "Casa del Valle" in Bogota, Colombia (Dg 34 #50-50)at 7pm on the 14th June 2007.
