(Toronto, Ontario – June 15, 2007) As part of the PGA schedule, the 2007 Canadian Open from July 23 - 29, 2007 will draw golf enthusiasts from around the world to the Angus Glen Golf Course, located in the Town of Markham in York Region.

While plans are well underway at Angus Glen to create a challenging course worthy of the world’s golf elite, PGA fans everywhere are planning their trip to Markham to attend the Canadian Open and perhaps test their swing on the excellent golf courses in and around York Region.

The Canadian Open has traditionally been held in September, but starting this year, it will be held in July. During the 2002 Bell Canadian Open, Angus Glen had approximately 30,000 fans each day! The summer timing for this event will no doubt bring even more viewers out to watch the tournament and take some time to discover York Region’s incredible surroundings.

To help them plan their visit, yorkregion.com, the Regional Municipality of York, the Town of Markham and Angus Glen—the Canadian Open host course, have joined forces to develop an extensive online resource (www.yorkgolf.ca). It’s packed with at-a-glance information about the 2007 Canadian Open, ticket sales, travel directions with mapping features, accommodations, dining, attractions and much more.
